Recruitment

The Fraternity & Sorority Community at TCNJ uses a deferred recruitment system for ALL first semester freshmen. This means that no first semester freshmen are allowed to join a recognized TCNJ Greek letter organization until the Spring of their freshmen year. As becoming a member of a Greek organization is a lifetime commitment, thus choosing to join one should not be taken lightly. After acclimating to TCNJ and college life, students that meet the following requirements and criteria are eligible to join a Fraternity or Sorority at TCNJ. In the meantime, the IGC encourages first semester students any other interested members of the TCNJ community to come out to as many chapter programs/recruitment events as possible in order to get to know the brothers and sisters of the chapters. That way, when an individual does decide to join an organization and go through the recruitment process, they can make an educated decision for themselves as to what organization is the best fit for them.

Basic Requirements for joining a Fraternity or Sorority:

1. Must be a fully matriculated TCNJ Student.

2. A minimum of a 2.2 GPA and 12 TCNJ credits (for all social fraternities, multicultural chapters, and DSP) OR a minimum of a 2.5 GPA and 12 TCNJ credits (for all NPC sororities)

3. If a transfer student, you must have a minimum of 12 TCNJ accepted transfer credits.

4. Must attend Round Robin (for all NPC sororities).

EXAMPLE: If you went to ABC University for a year and a half and accumulated 22 credits. You decided to transfer to TCNJ for the Spring semester of your sophomore year. TCNJ only accepted 10 of your credits. You could not join a Greek chapter at TCNJ until the Fall because you only had 10 TCNJ accepted credits.
